This week was really cool.

Melissas son got the flu so we weren't able to see her, she couldn't go to the womens session of conference or to church. It's okay though! We are just praying that he will get better soon.

This week Sister Peardon also got sick and we had to stay in all day on Tuesday. She is feeling better now though! I was able to read a lot of the Book of Mormon and clean up the area book.

We taught a cool family this week, the Halls. We first met the mom, Michelle, and she was really interested in having us come back, but she missed our appointment. Then we met her daughter, Isabell, who was also really interested and missed our appointment. Then we met the dad, who really just wanted us to talk to Isabell and give her direction (shes our age so he thought that would help). We called Michelle and she invited us to come over on Sunday. We went and it just went so well! They were so open and had a lot of good questions. The dad was a little more like "meh I don't like this Joseph Smith guy" and was bringing up conspiracy stuff. I always get nervous with stuff like that because I don't want to say the wrong thing, but Sister Peardon handled it really well. Overall the lesson was great and we are seeing them again next Sunday!

I hope that you all have a great week! Talk to you next week.

I lost my name tag this week and I was so distruaght. I was just like "I literally have like 2 weeks left and I lost my only magnet nametag". So I called all the different places we went that day but none of them had it. That night we went to Crossroad for a church swap with Greta. While we were there the magnet of my name tag fell out of my dress, and so I took that as a sign that I would be able to find the rest of my name tag. But before we get to that part I will talk a little bit more about Crossroads. It's a really big church here in Cincinnat. It's motto is that its a church for people who have given up on church but not on God. Greta and her husband go there and they invtied us! When went on Saturday night and it was so cool! They played a really great song about how God is good and talked about how imporatant it is to have community support to help people through trials. I really liked it but I was really glad that the next day was Sunday and we had to chance to go to church ;) So the next day at church a member came up and they had my name tag! I had come off the day before when we were in the chapel and it flew under the benches so I didn't see. Hallelujah!

Melissa Metz: She came to church again!! We saw her on Saturday and she had already set up her ride! We were able to figure out where she is at right now as far as Joseph Smith and her desire to be baptized. SHE BELIEVES THAT JOSPEH SMITH WAS A PROPHET! SHE WANTS TO GET BAPTIZED. I am hoping that she will be able to commit to a baptismal date in the next few weeks.

On Wednesday we got to do the combined youth activity! We talked to them about missionary life, played a game, and showed a video for them to share online. It was the best! The youth were all really involed and they really enjoyed it. I am glad we had that chance to connect more with the youth.

This was such an amazing week! I love you all :)

Melissa: We met with her last Saturday and went into more detail about the Plan of Salvation, it went really well! She said it goes along with what she already believes which is super cool. We also met with her on Thursday and read the Book of Mormon with her. She's been reading it here and there by herself and she has been praying to know if this is the true church and if this is the path that Heavenly Father wants her on. We saw her again Saturday and taught about the Doctrine of baptism and then she came with us to the Lynch baptism that night. Then she also came to church the next day! She is so awesome.

Greta: She is a potential that we met last week and we have been doing service for her. She is 32, works 3rd shift, is married, has a 7 month old daughter, and is in the army. She has fallen behind on a lot of projects that shes wanted to do and its really stressed her out. We have really been an answer to her prayers as we have helped her with various projects. She is the one that wants someone to help her sew, so if anyone knows how and is willing to donate their time we would really appreciate it! The other day we told her we were asking around for someone who can sew and she said "Would it help if you told them that I am considering Mormon?" then we said "Well, are you?". Her response was "Well... the Book of Mormon is still a little crazy to me". She is such a cool lady with a strong relationship with our Savior. We really think that she could progress soon as we just continue to serve her and be friends with her. Shes having us over for dinner today and then we are helping her with some more projects on Thursday!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes! I am now 21, and its crazy to think! I also go home in 3 weeks, which is even crazier to think! Wow, time goes by so fast when you are in the service of the Lord.

Around Christmas time Sister Peardons mom accidentaly sent her a package of toys that she meant to send to herself for the kids. So long story short we had all these kids toys in our house. We decided to give them to the Allreds, and their son Seth really like the talking baby doll, it was pretty hilarious and I had to take a picture!

I have been teaching Sister Peardon to play the piano and I tried to take a video, but as she says in the video, I caught her on a bad song, haha.

I love you all!
One cool thing that happened was when we tried a potential. She wasn't really interested, but she said we could walk with her and her dog and tell her about what we believe. We taught her the restoration and when we got back to her apartment she invited us in and we spoke more. At the end she still wasn't interested, but what was cool was that we were an answer to her prayers. She was trying to find answers as to what job she should take, we talked to her about it and really helped her figure it out. We also offered to help her with any projects, she was so shocked that we offered! She started crying that we were willing to help her. We are going today, even though its P-Day, to help her with a project. That night when we read PMG in companion study about going about doing good. It was cool to see that that was exactly what we did! I'm excited to help her.

On Saturday we taught our most progressing investigator Melissa. She has been reading the Book of Mormon and praying! We taught her the plan of salvation again to make sure she understood. It went really well and she said that it goes well with what she already believes. She is starting to think that this may be the church that Heavenly Father wants her in! She has been progressing really well even though we haven't seen her very much. This week we are going to try to see her more than once and also try to get her to a baptism that is on Saturday.

Yesterday a member fed us and we forgot to tell her that I can't have gluten. The entire meal was gluten... so needless to say I didn't feel well after. It's confirmed that I am gluten intolerant! Woo.

She is from Roseville, California and she has been out about 10 months. We have had so much fun this week and I just love her! I am teaching her to play the piano and we try to play Pokemon together.

We tracted a bunch this week in efforts to building our teaching pool. I have tried most of the potentials in the area book so we are trying new stuff out. It was my first time really tracting and it brought forth some good things, but mostly just being tired, haha. We are still working hard to build up our teaching pool!

A funny story from this week: We knocked on a potentials door and her son answered. He started saying how he is a "TI", which is a targeted individual. We asked how he became one and he acted all weird and said "various ways". Well okay then. He said that he thought we were trying to break in the other day when we knocked, but it wasn't us. Then he said "I thought some redneck gangster was breaking in to kill me and my mom". Later we asked him what religion he was and he said "I feel like I shouldn't say...the one everyone hates." Well okay then. As you can imagine we probably won't be going back there.

A member took us to Red Lobster this week, and I loved it! I used to hate fish but since being on my mission I have grown to love it. The member that took us was baptized last year and is now less active due to work. He is one of the coolest people I have ever met, he has the most interesting conversion story. He used to be heavily into drugs and he says that if he hadn't started meeting with the missionaries he probably would be dead. He has to work every Sunday to support his ex wife who he pays a ton of alimony to and also he has two daughters who he pays for to go to school. Since he is a single guy we can't meet at his house, instead he takes us out to dinner every single week! We try something new every week and its been fun to get to know him. This week we found out that he likes Tumblr. He also freaks out when there is something with gluten that I can't eat. I just love him!

Yesterday after church a kid got hit by a car in the parking lot. I didn't see any of it happen I just heard. It was the son of our primary president and they had to take him to the hospital. He's okay now from what I have heard and is back home. But how scary is that! I'm glad he is okay. To makee the story a little less scary, an investigator saw it happen and yelled the "S" word and I thought it was pretty funny.

I love you all! Talk to you next week.
This was the last week of the transfer. I will be staying in Eastgate and will be getting a new companion. Her name is Sister Peardon and I am seriously so excited to be with her.

The zoo on Monday was so fun! Not many animals were out due to colder weather, but we saw enough to make it worth it (aka the elephants).

We got a new investigator this week named Gary. We found him looking for his dad who passed away (those situations are always a little awkward). Gary wonders what the truth really is and how you can tell it, and he really has real intent. The sisters found him on exchanges so I wasn't there, but when I first met him his dog pee'd on my foot. Reminded me of home.

This week we went to the temple!! It was much needed and I loved every minute of it. We went to the Columbus temple with the Cherry Grove sisters and Sister Allred from our ward drove us. I ended up losing my recommend somewhere at the temple and couldn't find it after we were done. Luckily President was able to give me a 3 month one. After the temple Sister Allred took us to a classic place called Bob Evans. It turned out to be a really great day.

Today we had a zone fun day at a members house and they had a basketball court in their house! The only downside was that it was decked out in Utah State University... but alas I played on it. They also had a pool table, ping pong and chess. The members also fed us pizza (I just ate the cheese and toppings),

Love,

We taught Melissa the Plan of Salvation this week and it went really well. She wasn't able to come to church this week sadly :( But she is planning on it for next week! She is so awesome and understands things really well. I love teaching her! Well, I love teaching everyone, but especially her.

In Ohio you always get an earful from people about all the heroin and weed problems that are everywhere. I love listening to it honestly, its so interesting to me. It's hilarious when one of your investigators tells you that another one of your investigators is selling heroin. Woo!

On Saturday we got to go to Lakeside Park, Kentucky, to help with a Tri State Priest-Laurel activity. It was so fun! We helped with the games during the race, we did the puzzle room. The youth were so funny to watch and it reminded me of when I was in their place :)

To add to the time with young people we also taught Primary! We taught the 5 year old kids and they were a handful. Two of them just loved to talk and didn't know what "shhh" meant, haha! One of them commented on my deep voice, and I just smiled. Awkward when little kids just say what they think, I love it.

We are going to the Cincinnati Zoo today with our District, the assistants, and President and Sister Welch. I will send lots of pictures next week!

Love you all!

When I was in Cincinnati at the beginning of my mission, I had heard of two boys name Lamatrics and Lamaine Coleman. I could tell that the ward really loved them and cared about them by the way they talked about them. Members in Ward Council talked about how they weren't sure where the boys had ended up, but that they thought they had moved to Western Hills ward. I left the ward after 4 transfers and never head much about the Coleman's. I was lucky enough to go back to the Cincinnati ward training a new missionary. Ward Council still was talking about the Coleman's a few times every now and then. One day we were driving to meet the Highland Heights sisters for exchanges. We stopped at UDF to get ice cream, as we usually did. While we were ordering our ice cream, the boy scooping the ice cream said "Oh hey, I used to be Mormon". I looked up at him and read his name tag and it said "Lamatrics". I talked to him briefly about his love for the Blackwelder's in the Cincinnati ward. The next Sunday I told the ward council whereabouts the UDF was, and they were confused because it wasn't anywhere near Western Hills. They then gave my companion and me the assignment to go see his grandma Mamie Parker. We had limited miles and she was very far out of our area. We weren't ever able to get a member to drive us out there and we didn't ever end up fulfilling the assignment. My companion and I got transferred away from Cincinnati, and I ended up in the Eastgate ward a few transfers later. We got a call from the Cherry Grove Sisters to go see a member in our ward whose records aren't here. The members son in the Western Hills ward told them about her. We finally were able to go and see her a few weeks after they told us. Turns out... it was Mamie Parker along with Lamatrics and Lamaine Coleman!! I had finally found them month after I had heard about them in the Cincinnati ward. It's amazing how I am the only missionary other than my companion that would've known anything about them. I really have been wondering about them for months and have always wanted to meet them. The Lord led me to them in the last place I thought would find them! Mamie and Lamaine both came to church on Sunday as well! I am so excited to help this family progress and to teach Mamie's grandson who isn't a member yet.

Another great thing that happened this week was Melissa. We found her in the potentials list, and she has had missionaries come every year for 16 years, and so she is taking it as a sign. We taught her the Restoration on Saturday and the spirit was so strong. She said she would study and pray, and she's already started praying about it. I can tell that she has real intent. She even came to church yesterday! She almost didn't. The member we had set to give her a ride got the flu, and to make it worse we forgot our phone when we went to ward council. We ran home after before church started, and we got home at 8:40 when church starts at 9:00. That's when we saw the text from the member. We started to panic because we weren't sure who to ask. We called Melissa and turns out the members husband just decided to give her a ride despite that he would be alone with her, he just had a video call with his wife to be safe. So she was able to come to church! It was so amazing. She stayed for all of it and was so involved. At the end she said she had a lot to think about and pray about, she also expressed that she felt so welcome. It was so amazing. I really can see her progressing in the gospel.

Here are a few pictures from last week! We had a district meeting, and made a Title of Liberty and then us at a less actives house :)
They changed up our morning schedule so its more relaxed and we can decide ourselves what to do. The council decided to give us more agency in deciding how we want our mornings to go. It's been a lot of fun to have a different schedule! They also took us from 9 key indicators down to 4. They have identified what the most important things to conversion are, and that's all that we report. Missionary work is a lot less stressful now, which is great :)

We almost got sucked into a Bible Bashing this week. I got really nervous because I try my hardest to avoid those... which I didn't used to, haha. They seemed really nice at first but then they started asking probing questions trying to get us to say the wrong thing so they could prove us wrong. Luckily, and of course, they couldn't get us with anything. We stayed pretty calm and politely answered questions. We did leave them on good terms by letting him rant to us about Donald Trump and how it is related to God. It was interesting to hear his point of view, and mostly his wife just sat there and listened to him rant. Once we were finally able to get out of there we went and had a great dinner with the Allred family, some members in the ward, and it made it all better.

Well, that is all for this week. Love you all!

This week Sister Winterton got attacked by an old woman at the nursing home where we do service. It was hilarious! We were playing with a parachute flapping it up and down with balloons in the middle and I guess the lady didn't like her for whatever reason. She started hitting her pretty brutally and then she grabbed her shirt and hair and pulled her. I was sitting on the other side of the room and I couldn't get to her, so I just had to watch. The nurse turned around and yelled "Martha! Let her go!". Martha had a pretty tight grip on her so it took a second to get her off. As she was getting wheeled away in her wheelchair, she pointed her finger really angrily at Sister Winterton. Later when we walked out I saw her and she said "Don't give him anymore" while pointing her angry finger at me. Then on Sunday morning we caught a mouse in one of the sticky traps that a member gave us, and then another Sunday night. That makes 4 total that we have caught in our house since Christmas. We need a cat! I hope we don't have anymore, but I have a feeling we do. We live in a members house and all there is under it is a crawl space. Our house is coordinator is coming over today to check it out, so we might end up moving!

Chris is still MIA. The other Sisters tracted his street and couldn't find him.

One of our investigators ended up in the hospital this week for attempted suicide. She's home now, which probably isn't the best. Her grandma told us to keep going back to help her. She is such a sweet girl with just a skewed thought process. I am praying a lot for her and hope we can help her.

The weather this week was so nice! It's been warmer and we don't have any snow. It's prime missionary work weather! Although I do wish there was some snow... but I hear Utah has a lot! I'm not sure I would want to missionary in that much snow. The past two winters in Ohio have been so mild, I am blessed!

Sure love you all!

My first full day we got a member referral for a man in the hospital where this member worked. We went and met him, his name is Chris. He took the lessons in California where he almost got baptized, but then he was attacked and stabbed (crazy, right?!). Then he lost contact with the missionaries. He since has moved to Ohio to be near the better hospitals to treat his lupus disease. We taught him the Restoration and gave him a new Book of Mormon. He remembers pretty much everything! It was so amazing to meet him. Since he has been discharged from the hospital, and we kind of lost him. He didn't give us his address, and he doesn't have his own phone. WE HAVE NO WAY OF CONTACTING THIS PREPARED AND ELECT MAN. We literally lost him. Oh my. I don't know what to do! He told us he lives on a street which is actually in Cherry Grove. I told the Sisters they just need to go tract that street so they can find him, haha. Pray that we find Chris!

The rest of the week was pretty slow. We are trying to find new people to teach. A lot of people will listen to us, but it's always a question of who will actually commit and do something about what we teach. Like this one guy, we shared the First Vision, and when we were done he said, "That's cool, can we wrap this up? I gotta go." I laughed right then and just didn't know what to say. Needless to say, we probably won't teach him much more.

We tried tracting this week. One of the doors we knocked on the guy looked at us and knew who we were. Once someone knows who you are, a rejection is coming. But there wasn't one! He wanted some "literature" to read. I guess we were amateurs and didn't have any on us. Awkward. He said he would talk to us more but he was....knitting. Priorities, right? We did manage to go by a few days later and give him a Book of Mormon. We are going to see him this week, so we will see what happens!

Today we went to a Jungle Jims with the Cherry Grove Sisters. It is pretty much the best store ever! They have all kinds of food from different places. It was so fun to just walk around and see the weird things they have.

Sister FultzAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12035833865372907637noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1671456576867934032.post-68887943263656581972017-01-10T18:45:00.000-08:002017-01-10T18:45:44.736-08:00Bye Cherry Grove!I am getting moved to Eastgate, which is right next to Cherry Grove. I am still going to be in the Cincinnati East Stake, and in the same building :) Also I am not going to be a Sister Training Leader anymore, but Sister Lamb will be mine! I am excited to still be close to her. I am going to be with Sister Winterton who is from Salt Lake! She has been out for about 6 or 7 months now.

We had an interesting week... we were supposed to go and work Wilmington (Sister Malloys area) after district meeting on Wednesday. But... Sister Lamb locked the keys to the car in the trunk. So we were stranded at the church for a few hours. The office elders said they were going to come and give us the spare, then an hour later (when they said they would be there) they called and said we needed to get a member to give us a ride to get the key. So we got a member to give us a ride 45 minutes to Western Hills, and then 45 minutes back. Then after we got into our car we had to drive 45 minutes back to Western Hills to give back the spare and then ANOTHER 45 minutes back to our area. No work happened that day. We did manage to make it out to Wilmington on Friday.

This week we went to the farm and walked ponies! Literal ponies. They were so cute! We walked them in the snow, and so it was pretty freezing. It was fun anyway! The elders were there with us and we had a good photo shoot with them. I would send pictures, but Sister Lamb forgot her camera, haha.

I am about to go into my second to last transfer of my mission! It is crazy how fast time flies by. I am hoping that I can finish my mission in Eastgate, that would be the dream. I am sure I will! Eastgate has a lot of potential, and I am excited to be a tool in the Lord's hands to change the area. I love being the Lord's servant and the chance that I have to be changed by it.

Love you all!
With it being the holidays no one really wanted to talk to us. Oh well!

We were able to meet an amazing part member family. The nonmember is from the Philippines and she has been in the states for a few months now. The member is her husband and they met online. Sister Lamb has been trying to meet them for a long time now, and we finally did! She has been learning a lot from him about the church. Sadly he is hesitant to have us over to teach, but we talked him into letting us come over just once a week. He seems pretty controlling of her, but we can work with it. We had an appointment for yesterday, but with it being New Years day its no surprise that they cancelled.

A couple weeks ago we got a call from the Sister Missionaries in the Colorado mission. They gave us a referral for a members boyfriend that live in our area. We tried calling him and he didn't answer. But the sisters called us again yesterday and said that he is ready for the gospel! We are so excited to try to see him again this week. The Sisters said that he even bought his daughter a dress for church! :)

So this week we get to be in another trio. Sister Malloy is serving in Wilmington and her companion goes home this week. Everyone going home this transfer is going home a week early in the transfer for school. Sister Malloy will get to be with us until transfers and we will be going to Wilmington 2 days this week to work. It's going to be a crazy busy week!

Hope you all had a happy and safe new year!
Love you all!

We did a lot of exchanges this week. I got to go back to one of my old areas, Little Miami! I also got to be with one of my old companions, Sister Johnson! Sadly I ended up being really sick and had to sleep all day. Sister Johnson was still able to get a lot done in the apartment while I slept. :) We were able to teach a lesson to an investigator named Carmelita. We committed her to being baptized in January, and she said yes! It was an amazing spirit filled lesson. I was grateful to be part of it. :)

We had a mission Christmas conference on Christmas eve. It was so fun! We did a funny talent show and a Christmas program. I sang in the Christmas program even! A bunch of other sisters and I sang "Mary did You Know". It was really stressful, needless to say! During the funny talent show our zone did "The 12 Days of Christmas". The zone leaders had different actions they did for each part and the rest of us did the singing. It was hilarious! There was a lot of beat boxing and rapping in the talent show. Afterwards we got these really cute knitted slippers! I sleep in them every night. It was an amazing conference followed by dinner at our Bishops house. They fed us an amazing dinner and we were able to sing songs with them. It was nice to feel part of their family when I'm so far from mine. They even gave us cute Ohio mugs and hot chocolate mix for Christmas! I really love them - and the whole Cherry Grove ward! I am so blessed to be here.

On Christmas we were ready to go to church, and we were already running late. But then... we couldn't find the keys! Sister Lamb is really good at losing them, her words not mine! ;) so we were late to church and we were supposed to be on the stand for the choir. It was a walk of shame to walk up there late. The Christmas program was so beautiful, it moved me to tears! I am so grateful for my Savior. The rest of the day was spent at members, as we weren't allowed to go proselyte. We had an amazing lunch with our ward mission leader and his family. Then we went to one of our favorite members, the Radcliffe's. That is where we skyped our families! It was amazing to see my family somewhat face to face. I wish there was as much snow here as there! To finish the night we went to another members and had cake and ice cream.

I love you all! Stay safe the rest of the holiday season!

Sister FultzAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12035833865372907637noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1671456576867934032.post-53907185264196938972016-12-19T09:53:00.001-08:002016-12-19T09:53:53.734-08:00Bye Gressell :(What a crazy week!

Sister Gressell is officially home in Idaho! That was weird to send a companion off in the middle of a transfer. Our apartment feels so empty without her.

Wednesday we had zone meeting. Our zone is so big... we have 14 companionships! Then we also had the Senior Sisters join us. It was a big meeting! We were able to do training's on planning, working with members, and simplified teaching. It turned out to be a really great meeting. Afterwards we went to a chicken joint called "Raising Canes". They have the best chicken!

We were able to have dinner with Myles and his parents on Wednesday night! That was so fun, they have a beautiful home. They asked a lot of questions about missionary work and what we do. His mom made really good soup :) I don't think they are really interested, but they are very kind and enjoy our company. It will be good to at least have a good relationship with them!

With the holiday season it has been really difficult to get in with people to teach them. We did manage to see a few less actives this week, and we got 3 referrals for some people that I am really excited to meet and teach! One of them was from the sisters in the Colorado mission, and the other 2 was for some family members of a less active. Working through referrals is one of my favorite ways to find new people to teach!

On Saturday night we had the change to Christmas concert for our stake at a Methodist church in my old area! It was in Indian Hill which is in the Cincinnati ward. It was the best to see some of my old friends in past wards, and to hear such amazing music about Christ. The music was so incredibly beautiful!!!

CHRISTMAS IS THIS WEEK!! I am so excited to be able to talk to my family. On Christmas we are asked to not do much missionary work, which is really depressing. We are only allowed to go places where we have been invited, and we can't stay for long. We will spend a lot of time that day watching training videos. Woohoo! Merry Christmas everyone.

Love you all!
Myles was baptized and confirmed this weekend. When he came out of the water he couldn't stopped smiling. He bore his testimony of how grateful he was that he found the gospel and the happiness that he has felt in it. His mother, father, grandfather and grandmother all came. His mom was very touched and shed a few tears during the service. You could tell though that his grandma and grandpa did not approve--they are devout Catholic. Afterwards his family took us out to eat! We were able to laugh with them and get to know them better while in the process answering a few doctrinal questions. They are truly such amazing people with great faith. His mom is hilarious! She acts so young and "hip" and she just loved us. We gave them our number and they invited us to come over this Wednesday! They expressed their gratitude to us for helping Myles to find happiness and believe in God again. Despite the difference in religion, we were all able to rejoice with Myles in his life changing experience. Sadly his family didn't come see him confirmed as they "had to go to their own church" as Myles said. When he was confirmed was a touching moment. The blessing involved basic principles of the gospel and gentle reminders to do the little things. He has amazing fellowship in the ward and a lot of support. Everyone comes up and talks to him every Sunday and really gets to know him. The man that Myles asked to confirm him was someone he had only met once, and yet he left an impression on him to the point he wanted him to be a part of an amazing experience.

To go along with the experience of Myles being confirmed, during one of the talks a member tapped us on the shoulder telling us some of our friends were out in the foyer. We had invited one of our friends, Jeishere, to come to church. We had no way to contact her that morning as her phone was off. We figured she wasn't coming when the meeting started. When we went out into the foyer it was her and her friend Desseray! They were able to listen to the last bit of the talk and went to gospel principles. It was interesting to talk to about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ in Gospel Principles. We are seeing them on Tuesday! :)

Our Sunday ended up having no work involved. Elder Verdoni, one of the assistants, asked us to go to a multi faith fireside to sing in the missionary choir. We got to drive all the way to Northern Kentucky to the Buttermilk Pike Building. I used to go to that building all time when I was in Cincinnati, it brought back old memories! We sang a few Christmas songs and This is the Christ. It was a fun night with uplifting messages and music and I am so glad that we were invited to go. It was great for Sister Gessell to be able to say goodbye to a few missionaries before she goes home this week. It was raining on our way home, and it was so beautiful to go through the city and see the lights with all the rain. I love Cincinnati so much!!

I love you all!
I love Cherry Grove. My companions are both amazing :) Sister Lamb and Sister Gessell. Sister Lamb came out with me and we were in the same district in the MTC, she if from California. Sister Gessell actually goes home next week and she is from Idaho. I am so sad that she is leaving! She has been staying strong though with the work and it's awesome to see her work hard until the end!

Our zone is super huge and we are having a get together today. It's going to be pretty crazy and fun! The Cherry Grove ward got 2 new Elders and one of them is fresh from the MTC. It's funny to be around a new missionary and remember what it was like to be new. The newbie is Elder Carter and his trainer is Elder Swainston. I guess Elder Swainston and I have common relatives! I came out with him too and he has been in Muncie, Indiana our whole mission until now! He is very new to Ohio and soi we had to show him all the good places like UDF and Graters :)

There are so many people in Cherry Grove that are ready to hear the Gospel! We talked to a lot of cool people this week. I am so excited to teach all of them! One of them is Courtney and her son Braxton. Braxton is only 8 and has so many questions about God. He had pretty deep questions too and I was impressed. We showed Courtney around the church so she can feel more comfortable when she comes to church. She asked a few of the classic Mormon questions and she was so accepting. She is very open and willing to learn, and I love it!

We got a media referral named Jeisherie. Jeisherie was a referral for a Bible, and the referral said that she was homosexual but has stopped practicing. We went and saw her and she is so prepared! She prayed to know if she needed to stop acting on her feelings. It's amazing to see that she was already willing to act on the promptings of the Spirit. Cassie was her friend who was there as well, she was asking a lot of questions and was excited to learn. We are going to go see the both of them tonight and talk more about the Restoration and the Book of Mormon.

We did service at a farm this week. We go and walk horses for a non member, and I got dragged around by a horse named Blue. She must have known that I was new and decided to break me in! The non member family that we do that for came to the ward Christmas party that we had that night. It was so fun to see the ward fellowship them immediately! The Christmas party was fun too. It had a lot of decorations...haha. We helped with the potato bar and I burned my hands a few times.

Myles, and investigator the Sisters found last transfer, is getting baptized this Saturday! He is such an amazing person. He smoked for 4 years, and he prayed for help to quit! He was able to quit cold turkey and he hasn't smoked for 4 weeks! Yesterday at church he went up and bore his testimony about how much happier he is now that he knows God. Even though i just met him I already love him! We had dinner with him last night at our Bishops house. Myles is the kind of guy that always has a joke for every situation. I am always laughing with him.

We have been showing people the #LIGHTTHEWORLD video! I cry every single time I watch it! It has such an amazing spirit and it is a great reminder of what we can do. We really can do what Christ would do and it doesn't need to be big or complicated. Go out and do it!

I love you all!
I am going to be in a trio with Sister Gessell and Sister Lamb. They both have been companions with Sister Baker, so we will talk about her a lot ;) Sister Gessell is going home in two weeks and then it will be Sister Lamb and I.

I loved being in Little Miami with Sister Baker. I am going to miss the people so much, members and investigators. Sister Baker taught me so much and helped me overcome a lot of trials. This transfer has been unlike any transfer and I have experienced some crazy things!

This week I went on my last exchange with Sister Coleman in Little Miami. She is headed off to Indiana! My baby is leaving her native Ohio. On exchanges Samantha Keldsen came out teaching with us! I just love her. She was with us for about 4 hours, haha :) it was such a fun night! I am going to miss her a lot.

I have been a STL the past two transfers, and now Little Miami is no longer an STL area. What they are doing now is that there is one set of STL's and ZL's per stake rather than two. Cherry Grove is now the only STL area for the stake, and so I will still be able to be an STL! I am excited to be able to go on exchanges with all the sisters. It will be crazy to do it with all the sisters in the stake, which is about 6 sets. Pray for me! Haha.

I love you all!
I taught him in Cincinnati with Sister Coleman. She and I were able to go and see him be baptized. It was so amazing! I loved being able to see people from the Cincy ward, and of course seeing Mark. There were 2 baptisms that day! A woman named Cheryl, who the elders taught, was baptized. Guess who baptized her?! STEF ROBERTS. I was so excited. When he saw me he hugged me while saying "I don't care!". He really doesn't. He's hugged me 2 times now. Oh well.

We had Zone Conference this week! Elder Hawkins (Assistant) called us the night before and asked us to do a training on asking for referrals. Eek! Speaking in front of a lot of people is not my forte, but I managed. It was fun to role play asking for referrals with Sister Baker and then watch everyone else do it. I learned a lot of different ways to ask!

The fireside we had yesterday was awesome! :) we had a less active come and she loved it! She got to talk to President Welch after. She told him how much she loves us, haha. Maybe he won't transfer us next week since she loves us so much ;) At the fireside we sang "Because I Have Been Given Much", "For the Beauty of the Earth" and "This is the Christ". Some other missionaries did other musical numbers that were really amazing.

We are teaching a lot of cool people! Nothing terribly exciting happened with anyone this week... but I am excited to continue teaching a lot of these people. Mahala is especially cool. She has such an honest desire to know the truth. We really can't push her though, and she appreciates that we are taking it slow. We gave her a Book of Mormon this week and she is excited to read it! Also Jess is doing better. Most times we have seen her, she has been intoxicated, but she is working to come off the alcohol. She continues to say crazy things when we are there, and we continue to love her. That is still all we can do for her right now. We met her boyfriend John, and he is really helping her which we are grateful for!

Exchanges with Wilmington this week! I went to Wilmington with Sister Call. I don't know her very well so it was fun to spend time with her. We went to a members house who literally lives in a barn. She fed us dinner and we got to brush her horses, and play with cats, and dogs, and chickens. It was very therapeutic and relaxing to be honest. I really loved it. Maybe I could live on a farm. But probably not.

Love you all!

We found 2 new investigators this week named Mahala and Brian. We met Mahala last transfer but never really taught her. I was on exchanges with Sister Peterson and I just felt like we needed to work in Morrow. It was around 10:30 when we were there and no one was home/awake/wanted to talk to us, but we kept going. We knocked on a few doors and when it was close to noon we started walking back to our car. As we were walking we walked passed Mahalas home and she was outside with her boyfriend Brian. We went up and talked to them and they invited us in! We were able to teach them the Restoration and commit them to church. They loved it and were excited for church and to learn more. This whole story is really cool because when we had walked her house earlier, I didn't see a car outside and decided not to knock thinking they weren't home. God knew they were and so he made it so they would be outside when we went by! God's hand it truly is in every phase of this work. Sadly they weren't able to come to church do to a health emergency in the family, but we aren't discouraged. We know they are prepared and we are so excited to be able to teach them more!

We had a zone meeting this week. We did training's on how to rely more on God. We also did a fun little activity with a green lighter saying to keep the "greenie fire". It was pretty creative ;) I have really loved the emphasis in our mission to be more in Preach My Gospel. As I have applied that I have learned so much more about how to be effective. I've found that I am more happy and fulfilled in my work. It's like President Welch is inspired by God or something.... ;) These passed few weeks I have just been able to feel so much love for my mission and my area specifically. I hope to stay in Little Miami a wee bit longer, like the rest of my mission ;)

It was a pretty slow week, so that's all folks!

Love,

We played in some leaves this week, and we played around with the settings on my camera :)

I taught a lot of people this week under the influence of alcohol... it was really sad. Not only is the smell horrible, but just the way that it makes people act! It's heartbreaking. We are really working to help one of our investigators break her addiction. I know that the Savior can help us through anything! Sometimes it's hard to remember that when it's such a physical and painful addiction.

We had leadership council this week in Western Hills. Usually we carpool with the Cherry Grove sisters, and we have to leave pretty early in the morning. The CG sisters decided to ask President Welch if we could just sleepover at their apartment Thursday night. President Porter never allowed that for anything, so we thought President Welch would be the same. We didn't get our hopes up. We got a call from the sisters at around 8pm Thursday night and they told us that President had said yes! What in the world. So we got to go pack our stuff and drive to their aparjmtnet and sleepover! We didn't go to bed until about midnight, then we laid in bed talking for another hour or so. The next moring we all got ready and headed to Western Hills. It was an awesome leadership council. The Welch's have a grand baby that was born last transfer that they haven't met yet. Their son surprised them at leadership by bringing the baby! The baby's name is Timothy Benjamin Welch. Sister Welch started crying of course. They knew their son was coming and their oldest grandson, but they didn't know the little baby was coming. It was exciting :) We also ate cake and sang happy birthday to Sister Welch. Afterwards we stopped in downtown Cincinnati and got sushi for dinner with the Cherry Grove sisters and the YSA sisters. Such a fun night! The sushi was super good too. It was funny to be "in the world" so much. People were yelling and drinking all around us as we prayed to bless our food. Such missionaries and it's awesome!

Also at leadership I found out that Mark, from when I was in Cincinnati, is getting baptized next Saturday! He is living the word of wisdom!!!! Yay!!! So exciting.

Saturday was a day for miracles. We got out after lunch and we were heading to Morrow. We turned around the corner and there was a woman walking on the side of the road. I felt like we needed to stop the car and talk to her, but I didn't say anything. Next thing I know... Sister Baker is pulling over and saying that we needed to go talk to her! The spirit is so real. We went and talked to her. Turns out that she is going through a divorce right now and felt so alone. We were able to testify of the Savior's love, and we told her that we felt like we needed to talk to her. Now we are going to start teaching her! Grace. Miracles happen when you follow promptings. When one companion doesn't listen, He sends it to the other companion :)

We stopped by to see an investigator, Jo, the other evening. It was pretty late and we didn't know who to see. It had been a pretty sad day and we were down in the dumps. Turns out Jo was too! So we went out to have a fire in her fire pit. It was exactly what we all needed. We read the Book of Mormon by the firelight :) A good way to end a sadish day.

So on Sunday I got sick. I threw up at 3 in the morning. It was weird because I only threw up once. I slept in in the morning (upon approval of course), and then we went to church. I didn't feel great, but I wasn't throwing up so I worked the whole day! Sunday night we had a choir rehearsal for a fireside that our mission is doing in a few weeks. It's a choir with missionaires and youth. I really don't lke singing... but I did it anyway. It was fun to see other missionaires. I found out from the Cincinnati sisters that a member from the Cincinnati ward passed away:( He was diagnosed with lung cancer when I was there. So Sad!

This transfer is going by so fast! We are already into week 4. After this transfer I will only have about 3 transfers left. WHAT. Where did the time go???? I'm not trunky I promise. :D but really though I love being here and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Love you all!

Today involves no working at all. We will be in our apartments at 6pm today and won't leave the rest of the night. We will be doing some cleaning and studying. I am excited! I love being able to clean and study! :)

This week we did exchanges with Montgomery on Tuesday and Wilmington on Thursday. Both times I got to go to the other areas. Tuesday in Montgomery with Sister Winterton was so fun! Especially since I served there. I got to see some of my favorite people, including the Koth's. Even Danny! I worked hard with that boy to help him overcome addictions and come back to church. Sadly he has gone back to old habits. Turns out though that he is living with his dad who is in our ward! So hopefully the Elders will be able to go see him. Then on Thursday I got to go to Wilmington with Sister Coleman! I got to be with my baby for the day! She is doing so awesome. Wilmington is a fun area too. Lots of character.

Jess won't be getting baptized on November 19th anymore :( She hasn't come to church yet. She has some health issues that make her nervous to be far from home for a long time. We are working on it with her. We had a lesson with her about the Word of Wisdom, and she took it pretty well! The next time we saw her we talked about the Sacrament. I ended up having to distract her son the whole time so she could pay attention. So Sister Baker and a member, Sister Riedy, taught it all. It was really great! Jess understands the need to take the Sacrament and she is excited to take it. I had lots of fun coloring with her son Levi while they had a spiritual lesson :D

Remember when I talked about Ling? Turns out his name isn't Ling. He was telling us his last name and it's actually Lin, no G. His full actual name is Qinglan Lin. We just call him Hayden. We gave him the Book of Mormon and the commitment to read the first 3 chapters of it. He texted us and said that he is almost done with it... dang! He read it really fast and said he understands it really well. Once we were able to teach him the actual discussions, and he comes to church, he will be baptized in no time :) He felt really bad for missing church on Sunday even when we went by to wake him up with pancakes. He sent us a funny text apologizing for it.

We had our ward trunk or treat this week! We coordinated with some of the young women in the ward to dress with similar colors, and the yw made themselves fake name tags, and we were all missionaries! Then Sister Baker and I switched name tags and were each other for the night. ;) Hayden came to it towards the end and ate some chili, and then it was over. At least he came and was able to meet some people!

Love you all!
We have some really amazing people that we are working with. First off we have Jessica Johnson. She was found a few months ago and has recently made a lot of progress. She is a recovering alcoholic and has been sober for almost a week. Before her most recent slip up she was sober for about 40 days. She is a single mom with a 2 1/2 year old son. She is committed to being baptized November 19th. She is on the 3rd chapter of the Book of Mormon and is praying every day. Jess, as she likes to be called, hasn't been to church yet due to some medical issues and anxieties. Our ward mission leader and assistant ward mission leader went this last Sunday and gave her a Priesthood blessing. She loved it and she felt the spirit.

Ling Lin! Our Chinese Investigator :) He has been reading a few chapters in the Book of Mormon that we have assigned him and is now going to start from the beginning. He didn't come to church because he overslept. We have had two awesome lessons with him in a members home who can speak Mandarin. This last lesson, the member said that the spirit had spoken to him during the lesson. Ling, surprised, said "Oh he already spoke to you?". It was funny and amazing to see the excitement in his eyes when he learned about the spirit and how it can speak to him.

Last week I talked about Edith... shes gone now. She called us and said she was too busy to meet with us. Silly lady. Oh well!

Funny story: after Ling's lesson, Sister Baker was really excited. She was dancing in the car when suddenly she made a sound like she was choking. She was moving too much that her seat belt locked and it choked her... I couldn't stop laughing. We always have a lot of funny moments. I really love her.

Remember Greg? Yeah he's still creepy. This last week he said that he prayed for a connection... not a connection with God... but for a connection with Sister Fultz (Me). Awkward! So we had to laydown the law (a few times) and tell him to stop calling us and that we can't talk to him anymore. He called us a few times that day and once on Sunday. We've been ignoring his calls. Hopefully he'll get the message. We were pretty blunt with him. We're pretty sure he was intoxicated though, so he probably won't remember. As long as we don't answer his calls I think we'll be fine!

Love you all!!
I am staying in Little Miami with Sister Baker and I couldn't be more excited!

This week we weren't able to teach Ling, and he didn't come to church :( but we have an appointment with him on Friday, so hopefully that will go well! He seems to think he never has time, who knows if that is really true. Usually it isn't.

We have an investigator named Greg who is crazy. He hits on us a lot and is always drunk (we found out yesterday). Our Ward Mission Leaders wife doesn't want us to see him anymore, and I don't really want to either. He makes me uncomfortable. We will prayerfully consider what to do! Haha. His neighbor is a member that said he was going to watch for us and make sure we were safe when we went into his house. This ward is awesome.

We put someone on date for baptism this week! Her name is Edith. She's a cute little old lady that smokes a ton. She's on date for November 19th. She has a long way to go, but I have faith in her! When we taught the Restoration and we shared the first vision, she got really excited to read the pamphlet. Later we taught her about the Book of Mormon, and she got really excited to read that too. She's just so great! She has a ton of Elvis stuff in her house but claims she doesn't really like Elvis.

We had dinner with the Fink's on Sunday. Elder Mafoa, who is from Tong, told us some funny stories. When he was first in the field they had dinner with a member. I guess they don't have ranch in Tonga, because Elder Mafoa thought it was soup and started eating it like soup! I died when he told that story. He is getting transferred and I'm really going to miss him and his funny stories!

The Primary President gave us the assignment to go and see a new move in family. We went to meet them, and it went super well, except they claim that they aren't members (aka they just don't go anymore). That's something that I won't ever understand. A lot of people think that if they just stop going to church that they aren't members anymore, but their records are still there. Kinda funny. I'm just kinda like "If you weren't a member we wouldn't be here and know all your names and birthdays...". They were nice but weren't interested in contact. At least we got a soda out of it.

We went to UDF for ice cream on Saturday to celebrate my 13 month mark that was on Sunday. While we were there a lady came in and started talking to this boy waiting in line. You could tell that it was heated. She was getting mad at him for something he did while driving on the road that this lady witnessed. Not really sure what happened, but we saw them stand about, but I wished I did. Also while I was waiting in line to buy my ice cream, the guy waiting in front of me informed me that the Great Barrier Reef died... he seemed a little off to be honest.

That is really it for this week. Nothing terribly exciting!

Love you all!

To start off... We have an awesome new investigator! His name is Ling Lin. His American name is Hayden. He was a referral from the missionaries in the DC South Mission. He was learning English from them and they taught him the Restoration. He moved here for a job, and so we get to teach him! We met him on Friday, committed him to church, and he came! It was so awesome! It was so amazing to see everyone in the ward reach out to him. We have a member who served in Taiwan, and so he speaks Mandarin, which is Lings native language. The member, Brother Poulter, reached out to him and took him under his wing for all of church. He invited Ling to play basketball on Wednesday. Yay for fellowship! Sunday night we had a lesson with him and Brother Poulter at Lings house. We couldn't go inside, so we had to sit out in the cold and mosquitoes. Such a powerful lesson! Brother Poulter pretty much got to relive his mission. When teaching someone without a Christian background, it is almost pointless to go straight into the Restoration. We (AKA Brother Poulter) taught simply about prayer, God and Jesus Christ. Ling seemed to understand it pretty well. It was a blessing to have Brother Poulter there to translate a few words he wasn't familiar with. We have another lesson set for next Sunday at Brother Poulter's house, and Ling is coming to church again! I am so excited to see his faith increase.

We had Mission Leadership Council (MLC) this week. My first one! It was a lot of fun to see some of my missionaries friends! Also I just love President and Sister Welch. They are so hilarious. We just laughed a lot during MLC. We had a few serious moments too ;) It was a really uplifting experience.

What a busy week! We even had interviews. Got to see President and Sister Welch a lot. Interviews are always fantastic! They aren't as long as they used to be. We don't do area books or planner checks, and we don't do role plays anymore. Just get your 2 interviews and leave! So much more efficient. President Welch and I talked about school, and where I should go... still trying to decide. President Welch always relates things back to marriage. So we talked about how I'm going to find my husband. It was a good time.

To end the week we went on exchanges too! I stayed in Little Miami with Sister Carlisle. We had a good and busy day. We spent the day in Morrow, like I usually do on exchanges. I got hit on by an investigator who we have met once. Sometimes its bad to give your phone number to people. Oi Vey. The guy is even married! People nowadays. On Sunday we had another investigator admit that he was attracted to us and wants to hang out after our missions. Awkward!

On Sunday we got to see a recent convert, Matt, receive the Melchizedek Priesthood! He was baptized about 6 months ago and is preparing to go on a mission. That day after church he came teaching with us too! So precious.

This was an eventful week! I loved every minute of it. This is the last week of the transfer, and I am hoping to stay with Sister Baker in Little Miami.

Love you all!
